From Foundational Skills to Professional Practitioner Development
At the School of Clinical Hypnosis (SCH), we believe that becoming an effective clinical hypnotherapy / mind body health practitioner involves more than learning hypnotic techniques. It requires an understanding of human behaviour, psychological processes, therapeutic communication and the responsibilities involved in working with clients.
Our training programmes are developed in collaboration with the International College of Clinical Hypnosis Practitioners (ICCHP), combining structured theoretical learning with practical demonstrations, supervised exercises and the application of therapeutic skills.
Students begin by developing foundational competencies through the Practitioner Certificate in Clinical Hypnotherapy (PCHyp) before progressing towards the Practitioner Diploma in Clinical Hypnotherapy and Mind Body Health Practice (PDHyp), our flagship professional qualification.
This pathway is designed for individuals entering the helping professions as well as healthcare and mental health professionals seeking to develop additional therapeutic skills.
SCH offers flexible training arrangements to accommodate working professionals and individuals pursuing a career in clinical hypnotherapy.
Students may begin their online theoretical learning through ICCHP Moodle while attending scheduled practical workshops conducted by SCH in Singapore. The theoretical and practical components can be undertaken concurrently, allowing students to progress through their training without having to complete one component before starting the other.

The PCHyp introduces students to the foundations of clinical hypnotherapy, including hypnotic principles, therapeutic communication, induction techniques and the responsible application of hypnosis.
Students develop essential practical skills through demonstrations, guided exercises and supervised practice. The programme provides the foundation for progression into the Practitioner Diploma.

Choosing to become a clinical hypnotherapy practitioner is an important professional decision. The quality of training, the experience of the educators and the opportunities to develop practical therapeutic skills all contribute to a student’s readiness for professional practice.
Through the collaboration between the International College of Clinical Hypnosis Practitioners (ICCHP) and the School of Clinical Hypnosis (SCH), students benefit from an established international curriculum, experienced clinical educators and structured practical training in Singapore.
Our shared commitment is to develop practitioners who understand not only how to use clinical hypnotherapy techniques, but also when and why particular therapeutic approaches may be appropriate.
Students follow the established professional curriculum developed by the International College of Clinical Hypnosis Practitioners (ICCHP). The programme progresses from foundational hypnotherapy skills to advanced integrative and evidence-based therapeutic approaches, providing a structured pathway towards professional practitioner development.
The PDHyp carries ICIP/NCIP Level 6 professional programme accreditation. Graduates may also pursue relevant professional membership and certification pathways through organisations such as ICIP, IACT and IMDHA, subject to their respective requirements.
ICCHP/SCH combines structured theoretical learning with practical workshops conducted in Singapore. Students develop their skills through demonstrations, supervised exercises and opportunities to apply therapeutic techniques. Advanced training also incorporates selected clinical case presentations and facilitated discussions to strengthen clinical reasoning.
Our trainers are practising psychologists and clinical hypnotherapists who bring their professional experience into the classroom. Through clinical examples, demonstrations and guided discussions, students learn to connect psychological understanding with therapeutic practice and develop the judgement needed when working with clients.
The ICCHP/SCH professional training pathway is designed to accommodate working professionals and individuals pursuing a career in clinical hypnotherapy.
Training comprises three compulsory components, combining flexible theoretical learning, practical workshops and supervised clinical practicum.
Flexible, on-demand learning | Recommended 3–4 months
Students access their theoretical modules through the ICCHP Moodle learning platform, allowing them to study at their own pace, at times convenient to them.
We recommend allowing approximately 3–4 months to complete the theoretical learning requirements, although individual progress may vary.
Students may undertake their theoretical learning concurrently with their practical workshops, allowing them to connect their academic understanding with hands-on therapeutic training.
10 days of practical training (or equivalent)
Students complete a total of 10 practical training days or its equivalent, conducted by SCH’s clinical educators in Singapore.
Practical workshops emphasise demonstrations, guided exercises, supervised practice and the development of therapeutic skills.
To accommodate different learning schedules, SCH provides two arrangements:
Weekend (Saturday) Workshops: Conducted on scheduled Saturdays, generally from 9 am to 6 pm; or
Intensive Weekday Workshops: Conducted twice annually, over a strecth of 2 weeks, allowing students to complete their practical training over a more concentrated period.
Both arrangements fulfil the same practical training requirements.
50 hours of supervised clinical practicum
Students complete 50 hours of supervised clinical practicum, providing opportunities to apply their learning and develop their therapeutic competence under professional supervision.
This component supports the development of clinical confidence, appropriate therapeutic decision-making and responsible professional practice.
At the School of Clinical Hypnosis, we believe that professional training is an investment in developing the knowledge, practical skills and confidence needed for therapeutic practice.
Our training pathway is designed to support students from foundational clinical hypnotherapy skills through to the Practitioner Diploma in Clinical Hypnotherapy and Mind Body Health Practice (PDHyp), our flagship professional qualification.
Students may choose to enrol in the complete PDHyp training pathway, with payment arrangements available to support their professional development.
