Developing Knowledge, Skills and Confidence in Clinical Hypnotherapy
Established in Singapore in 2015, the School of Clinical Hypnosis (SCH) provides professional education and practical training in clinical hypnosis, hypnotherapy and mind-body health practice. Our commitment is to develop knowledgeable, competent and responsible practitioners through structured education, experiential learning and professional guidance.
SCH delivers the professional training programme of the International College of Clinical Hypnosis Practitioners (ICCHP), providing students in Singapore and the region with access to the same curriculum, online learning platform, assessment framework and qualifications as students studying through ICCHP in the United Kingdom. All students undertake the ICCHP theoretical programme, complemented by practical training and supervised clinical experience.
The ICCHP qualifications are awarded under a common international framework, with diplomas jointly endorsed by Tod A. Cury, Founding Director of ICCHP, and Dr Aloysius Tay, ICCHP Regional Director (Asia). This shared responsibility reflects our commitment to maintaining consistent professional standards, ethical practice and training quality across the ICCHP international learning community.
Our educational approach integrates psychological understanding, evidence-informed therapeutic methods and practical clinical hypnotherapy training. We believe that professional competence extends beyond mastering techniques to developing sound clinical judgement, therapeutic sensitivity and the confidence to work responsibly with others.
At the School of Clinical Hypnosis, we believe that becoming a competent clinical hypnotherapist involves more than learning hypnotic techniques. It requires an understanding of human behaviour, the ability to build therapeutic relationships and the professional judgement to recognise each client’s individual needs.
Our educational philosophy is grounded in the belief that knowledge becomes meaningful when students can apply what they have learnt with confidence, sensitivity and responsibility.
Effective hypnotherapy begins with understanding the individual. Our students learn to appreciate how psychological, emotional and behavioural factors influence a person’s experiences and responses.
We encourage students to look beyond presenting concerns and develop a thoughtful understanding of the people they work with.
Practical experience is an essential part of our training. Students participate in demonstrations, guided exercises, supervised practice and discussions that help them translate theoretical knowledge into practical skills.
This experiential approach allows students to develop confidence while receiving constructive guidance from their trainers.
Professional competence involves knowing not only how to apply therapeutic techniques, but also when they are appropriate.
Our training emphasises ethical practice, professional boundaries, informed consent and recognising when referral to another healthcare professional may be necessary.
At the School of Clinical Hypnosis (SCH), we recognise that our students come from different educational and professional backgrounds. Some are exploring a mid-career transition into the helping professions, while others are established practitioners seeking to expand their knowledge and therapeutic capabilities.
Our training follows the ICCHP professional curriculum, integrating clinical hypnotherapy, psychological understanding, mind-body health practices and integrative therapeutic approaches. Through a combination of structured online theoretical learning, practical workshops and supervised clinical experience, students progressively develop their knowledge, therapeutic skills and professional competence.
We believe that professional development is a continuing journey. Beyond foundational training, SCH provides opportunities for advanced learning and continuing professional development (CPD), supporting practitioners as they broaden their knowledge and develop their professional capabilities.
Building essential knowledge in psychology, clinical hypnosis and mind-body health practices through structured theoretical learning and practical exercises.
Developing therapeutic skills through advanced learning, supervised practice and integrative approaches to psychotherapy and mind-body health.
Supporting practising professionals through advanced training, specialised workshops and continuing professional development opportunities.
Developing People. Strengthening Practice. Supporting Mental Health.
At the School of Clinical Hypnosis, we are committed to developing knowledgeable, competent and responsible practitioners who aspire to make a meaningful contribution to mental health and well-being. Our training emphasises professional competence, ethical practice and the thoughtful application of clinical hypnotherapy and integrative therapeutic approaches.
We welcome students from diverse educational and professional backgrounds, including individuals exploring a career in the helping professions and established practitioners seeking to broaden their therapeutic capabilities.
Our commitment extends beyond the completion of a qualification. We encourage lifelong learning, continuing professional development and a professional responsibility to make a positive difference in the lives of those we serve.
